d_luxe jewellery – New Zealand’s finest

I love finding great jewellery lines and recently came across a jewellery give away on one of my favourite street style blogs, Street and City Photos, from New Zealand. The giveaway was for a NZ jewellery line, d_luxe, and I was so blown away by their collection that, after entering the competition, I checked out their website and made a HUGE mental wishlist of items.
There are 3 collections, with the newest, Costumes and Crystal Armour, being inspired by Bat for Lashes singer, Natasha Khan.

From d_luxe:
‘‘Bat for Lashes’ singer Natasha Khan was d_luxe’s creative muse, from her theatrical costumes and
headdress on stage, through to her song titles and lyrics which aptly name most jewels in the range.
(Including the: “Perfect Armour, Sleeping Sunshine and Blinding Battle” rings).
“Pearl”, who is Kahn’s New York based alter ego, also inspired pieces namely the “Liberty Spiked Ring” and
“Pearl’s Dream” bracelet.’

The brand itself has an interesting history, with the designers having first met in architectural college and making a move into jewellery design. You can definitely see the architectural influence in some of the pieces with delicate detailing and strong, clean lines on a lot of the pieces. Ranging from rings, to bracelets and necklaces, there’s something for everyone. Jewels, stones, silver and gold – you’d be hard pushed to find something that didn’t appeal.

I’ve picked a few of my favourite below – if I could, i’d have them all!

The new collection also features these beautiful illustrations of the designs.
‘Collaborating with Illustrator Kelly Thompson, d_luxe’s sources of inspiration all culminate in four incredible
campaign illustrations where Thompson draws the jewellery pieces at a new scale and adorns the models
with the ‘Bat For Lashes’ like headdress costumes.’

The following ring is ACE & reminds me of the YSL Arty rings, of which I am obsessed!
Prices are available online at d_luxe and international deliveries are within 3 to 10 business working days.

Topshop Rings

I tried to think of a crap pun for the title, but I couldn’t come up with one that wasn’t terribly obvious. Obvious isn’t always good.
Anyway, i’ll get to the point. Recently I was lured into Topshop with the bright pink words ‘FLASH SALE’ in the window.  After a quick root through the racks and few buys in the bag I headed towards the jewellery section. Usually I need to be restrained and have a good friend on hand to slap me across the face and cop me on. I’m like a magpie. I see something shiny and it must be mine. A Topshop/Freedom jewellery sale is dangerous territory for me. I went through a bracelet and bangle phase, then a long necklace phase and now…i’m at my ring phase. I only have 8 fingers & 2 thumbs, how could I NEED so many rings? I have chunky, I have thing, I have gold, I have silver, I have wooden. I have rings from Croatia, London and New York. And I love them all and need to buy more, more, MORE.
I particularly like Topshop’s jewellery because it tends to not turn any of my body parts green and the pieces look more expensive than they are (though, let’s be honest, with the £ to € ‘exchange’ they still can be pricey for high street pieces, that’s why the sale is so good!).
If i’m going down, you guys are coming with me. Here is a selection of my favourites, though there’s plenty more instore. Go forth and fly my pretty magpie friends!

The above 2 remind me of the YSL Arty Too rings (the bottom one seen in blue over on Glamorous Glue blog)
(I would prefer this minus the diamantés, I hate diamantés thrown onto everything)

Newsround

Ok, not so much ‘news’ as ‘things I like’….but these things are news to you! (speaking of news, did you hear that Top of The Pops is coming back? SQUEEEEEEEEEEEAL)

Anyway, this is like a mid-week Sunday Roast of things that have caught my eye, but don’t particularly deserve a full post (OR, i’ve been too busy this week to dedicate the time to a full post, sorry!) Here goes, comments appreciated – also, feel free to let your friends know about the blog if you enjoy it, honest…I won’t mind!

Diane Kruger in THIS Jason Wu dress – I actually have an idea for a Diane Kruger related post, yeah, I know, i’m late to the bandwagon, but she’s really wowed me in this dress. It’s classy and elegant and the shapes are just beautiful, not to mention the naughty little peek of white from under the hem. I’d love to find an affordable version of this, or a dress with a similar shape. Stunning.

This post about Pamela Love’s studio from CoCo Celine. I’m so excited about the Topshop collab that is planned – i’m a big fan of her pieces.
This dress from Rachel Zoe’s RTW Fall 2011 collection – can you tell yet that I love volume and shapes?
Nicki Minaj is at it again – I love her, she’s FIERCE competition for Lady Gaga. Fearless and strong and wow, look at that ass! (i’m just saying what we’re all thinking)
This short piece about Tavi – The Style Rookie. Sometimes when reading her blog I feel strangely proud of her and how she’s growing up and maturing. She’s as cool as I wish I had been at her age. I hope she finds the direction she wants to go and doesn’t get pulled under by the evils of fashion. (is now an inappropriate time to add evil laughter?)
Cara Delevigne for Burberry Beauty via fashiongonerogue.com – ahoy there lovely eyebrows.
Oh, Opening Ceremony, why must you taunt me with your ‘i’m so cute i might explode’ dresses and ‘fuck me i’m AMAZING’ platformed shoes teamed with socks? A quick jaunt into the SoHo, NYC store in February left me panting and grasping at my credit card, all the while pleading that my bank manager would give me MORE, MORE, MORE so I could spend there – alas, it was the end of the trip, the end of my funds and it just wasn’t meant to be. Here, they have partnered with Pendleton in these Navajo Desert, wild west inspired wonders. I just love their quirky photo shoots. (the cynical part of me hates myself for using the word ‘quirky’ just there, please don’t judge me)
More outfits & shots can be seen here.
Charlotte Free – read about her here
Alexandra Jefford jewellery – in particular the cocktail rings, I just can’t get enough, I just can’t get enough.
And finally, because i’m loving barbie pink and neon lips at the moment, this piece from Net-a-Porter about perfecting your pout, ooh la la!

Update: Christina Hendricks for Vivienne Westwood Jewellery

Further to my previous post about Christina Hendricks modelling for Vivienne Westwood, here are the (stunning) pics.

(how AWESOME is this tiara – i’m imagining a forest wedding complete with woodland critters)

House of Harlow – Nicole Richie and my persuit to look as good as her..

I love Nicole Richie. There. I’ve said it.
I loved her when it wasn’t cool to love her – i.e. on The Simple Life.
I loved her with blonde hair, I love her with brunette hair.
I love her even more now she has a bit of meat on her bones and probably one of my favourite celebrity styles. Her effortless ability to look chic is something I strive to achieve and a lot of the time is down to her great eye for accessories.
This is a ring from her House Of Harlow 1960 jewellery range & is available at a number of online stores. I love it. I want it. I NEED it. I will have it.

BEHOLD! House of Harlow 1960 Abalone Sunburst Cocktail Ring

Here are a few of my fave Nicole Richie sartorial moments…just to give you an idea as to why I love her.

A lil’ bit of Leopard

There’s a lot of leopard print around at the moment, and while i’m digging leopard print pussy-bow blouses, i’ve just come across this modest nod to the leopard print trend – the Mulberry Leopard Charm Necklace

It’s also a fairly wallet-friendly (for such a label) €150!

WANT!
