girlcrush #grimes

A lot of my favourite things seem to come from Canada – Chromeo, Trailer Park Boys, Mountain Dew, Ryan Gosling and now Grimes.

I am so excited about seeing her play at Forbidden Fruit Festival in Dublin this summer. Not only am I a fan of her music, but her style too – a little bit 80’s electro, a little bit riot grrrl, a little bit grunge.

If it wasn’t for that pesky day job i’d have a lilac 50’s fringe in the morning!

Check out her clothes in the video for Oblivion –  obsessed with the gold & black hoodie and the huge sailor style collars.

*new tv obsession alert*

So for anyone that loved Kelly Cutrone in The Hills and, later on, The City you can now watch the People’s Revolution boss & allround PR wonderwoman in her own programme, Kell On Earth. Now, i’m not too excited about the name of the show, but we’ll bypass that for a minute..
Showcasing her life as the boss of the hugely successful fashion PR firm, there’s also a glimpse of her homelife as a single mum.
Known for her straight-talking and no-nonsense attitude, Kelly has often been likened to such other powerful fashion women as Anna Wintour (and the fictional portrayal of her, Miranda Priestly, in The Devil Wears Prada). In the show you get to see her softer side, her relationships with her devoted employees and business partners and just what exactly a fashion PR firm does.
Now if that doesn’t make you want to pack it all in & move to New York then I don’t know what will! I’m scouring for jobs already….Kelly – if you’re hiring, give me a call!!

One of my fave online sites is pretaportabello – it’s the online version of the infamous Portobello Market in London & also sells favourites from other markets such as Spitalfields (London), Camden, Brick Lane (London) & also Sydney, Australia!
It’s an online showcase of quirky, original clothes and one off pieces. They have a great mailing list that’s well worth signing up to & be updated with their occasional special offers (at the moment it’s £1 postage – always nice to hear!)
Aswell as girly dresses, cute blouses & coats and handmade jewellery they also stock menswear, underwear and have a great vintage section. But the icing on the cake is the ‘Lets Trade’ section, whereby you can haggle online with the market stall owner – just like you would in a real market! It’s different and it’s fun – a welcome change to online
buying i think!
Below are just a few of my favourite items available online at the moment. Check out the link above & enjoy!
